00:30
This self hypnosis program consists of four tracks. This introduction
00:41
two deep trance sessions, one that nurtures your self-value and one that builds a healthy relationship with anxiety.
00:56
Find a space for these two where you won't be interrupted.
01:04
and one two minute long on the spot state shifter for quickly managing anxious feelings on the spot.
01:19
These sessions are designed to be listened to in order. But it's not a rule and they can be effective in any order.
01:32
Repeat listenings are recommended. Listen as many times as you feel beneficial.
01:44
Jill Balty-Taylor, a neuroanatomist, observed that from the moment an anxious or similar feeling begins, there follows a maximum of 90 seconds of chemical process, producing that strong feeling in your body.
02:04
For a feeling to continue beyond that point, it can only be a result of a choice to perpetuate that pattern of thinking and feeling.
02:18
That choice may not have been deliberate, but you can be deliberate now about choosing to watch and feel it happening until it goes away.
02:34
After it has gone away, simply stop and carry on with something else.
02:43
With practice, this shift to observing awareness can become second nature.
02:56
Using the track from this program entitled On The Spot State Shifter, I will guide you through this 90 second process.
03:08
Just make sure you can access it as and when you need it. If any anxious feelings arise for any reason, on your phone for example. And find a safe place to listen for just two minutes.
03:36
Chances are you've just been busy doing something else. There may be thoughts floating through your head about any number of different things. Some may be concerning, some reassuring. Some you may wish were not there. Others you may wish were there all the time.
04:04
Nevertheless, they are all floating by and that's okay.
04:14
we all imagine differently.
04:19
Some see bright, vivid images. Others hear sounds or feel feelings.
04:31
Some may experience none of these and simply have a more abstract inner awareness.
04:43
while others may simply be aware of nothing.
04:50
Whichever way your imagining occurs, just listen and let it happen or not happen.
05:03
This isn't a test or a task. This is your time.
05:15
there are two different types of crises.
05:20
The crisis out there in the world and the crisis between your ears.
05:31
This process is focused on overcoming the crisis between your ears so that you can adapt to and respond to the crisis out there.
05:49
The word crisis comes from Greek.
05:55
and the original meaning is the decisive point of a disease.
06:04
It is a crucial point at which a decision can lead to two or more vastly different outcomes.
06:16
When a decision such as this is made, everything changes.
06:24
Our worlds get turned upside down. And we have to make sense of everything from scratch.
06:37
We can't see a precise outcome and our choices may involve more faith and less clarity than we are accustomed to.
06:51
It is this, the unknown, that scares us the most. The source of much of our anxiety.
07:02
We don't reliably know how long this situation will last, how it will affect us or our loved ones and so many others across the world.
07:20
We don't know the future and what it will bring for our work, our education or the economy of the world.
07:34
The answer to these questions may not be under your control, but what goes on between your ears is...
07:51
When faced with an uncertain outcome, we simulate the possibilities for that outcome.
08:00
and this can initiate anxious feelings.
08:07
We have the remarkable ability to draw upon our past experiences to make predictions about the future.
08:21
While anxiety may be future-focused, we feel it in the present.
08:30
This can be enormously useful. However, not all our experiences are positive.
08:41
and our simulations do not discriminate.
08:49
when the future is less predictable and the stakes are high.
08:56
Naturally, we spend more time predicting and simulating and less in the present.
09:08
Add to this a tendency for negative thought that comes as a default setting for us humans. We are far more inclined to fear the worst than the best.
09:28
These cautionary predictions activate chemicals in your body to help you run from, fight with, or hide from immediate danger.
09:44
But not all dangers are immediate, and many dangers are best overcome with a calm and present mind.
09:57
if indeed the danger is real at all.
10:04
And so you may find yourself physically primed for a sprint around the block when what you really need to do is to think rationally or creatively.
10:20
and to make considered actions.
10:26
This is your mind trying its best with what it has available.
10:36
Your mind requires your patience, empathy and deliberate input to help it learn new responses.
10:51
You can think of it like training a dog or even raising a child.
10:59
It has drives and desires. It thinks independently. And it will only do as you say, when it has good reason to.
11:16
You can only teach a dog to sit when you reward it with what it wants. A treat or some affection perhaps.
11:31
So what does your anxiety want?
11:37
Well, you are in the best position to answer this.
11:44
but it likely has something to do with security.
11:51
your heart rate increases, your breath becomes shallow.
11:59
you break out in a sweat.
12:04
You may feel restless or on edge, unable to think clearly.
12:14
perfect for running, fighting or hiding.
12:22
actions which can save your life in the short term.
12:30
So to achieve security in the short term, you need anxiety.
12:38
and to achieve security in the long term. Your anxiety needs you.

Another, and in with suppleness.
02:46
with tension.
02:54
And one more, in with contentment.
03:01
out with concerns.
03:09
Let your ears settle on a point in the centre of your vision.
03:18
Notice the shapes, colours and patterns.
03:27
Notice how this makes your eyelids feel relaxed as your breathing settles effortlessly into a natural rhythm.
03:52
Imagine yourself at the perfect temperature, sitting under a warm and gently flowing waterfall.
04:08
or lying in a warm and gently flowing stream.
04:19
Feel free to let your eyelids relax closed whenever they feel ready.
04:34
Notice the point at which the water makes contact with the top of your head. Loosening and releasing all the tiny muscles in your cranium as it trickles gently.
05:04
over your forehead.
05:09
Your closed eyes, your temples, your occiput and ears, dissolving any tension and relaxing as it flows.
05:35
now as you let your focus settle.
05:44
your face and jaw muscles. You may have already begun noticing your shifting awareness.
06:06
that wave of relaxation oozing into your neck muscles feel that warm flow seeping into your neck the muscles and tendons soft and supple
06:37
as they support your head perfectly as if suspended delicately from above.
06:53
Give a moment of gratitude for all that your neck gives you.
07:03
as the relaxation drifts gentle wave upon gentle way
07:19
And just as water flows from the neck of a jug, to hydrate and rejuvenate.
07:32
This fresh, warm flow of reassurance ripples softly through your neck, under your collarbones.
07:54
and deep into the tissues of your shoulders.
08:05
your shoulders so loose and floppy.
08:15
relaxing from the inside out.
08:21
may adjust themselves.
08:27
Finding the best position to let go.
08:38
Take a moment to notice that letting go now.
08:51
thanking your shoulders for their effort.
09:01
and from your shoulders follow that relaxation into your chest and upper back.
09:17
softening and opening up a space.
09:26
lungs and heart to breathe.
09:35
nourishing your entire body.
09:46
flow now.
09:50
absorbing its way through your core.
09:58
giving a kiss of life to your internal organs.
10:08
massaging your muscles from the inside.
10:18
as that warmth flows down.
10:27
to your abdomen and lower
10:36
bathing your body in sweet relaxation and appreciation.
10:52
for everything it does.
11:01
And simultaneously you may have begun to notice your upper arms floppy and free.
11:21
Increasing that life-giving circulation.
11:28
Feeling that warmth going down through your elbows.
11:40
your wrists.
11:44
Thanks.
11:48
to each finger and thumb.
11:55
loosening and slackening.
12:02
intricate networks of muscle fibers.
12:13
Now feel those soft, warm waves travelling through your hips and thighs, inside and out.
12:38
Delivering health and vitality to every cell. Softening, relaxing, letting go.
12:59
From your thighs witness that warm flow, saturating through your knees and calves with complete relaxation.
13:25
Now we arrive at your ankles and feet.
13:34
Opening up those gates. Letting the cleansing relaxation flow through now.
13:51
relaxing each and every muscle.
13:59
as it goes.
14:03
flowing out through the bottoms of your feet.
14:14
Feel that continuous flow now.
14:19
from the top of your head.
14:24
all the way through each part of your body and mind.
14:36
to the bottoms of your feet as if you yourself are a beautiful river.
14:52
trickling source up in the mountains at the top of your head.
15:04
and the delta flowing out into the sea.
15:13
through your feet.
15:17
giving you that full body warmth.
15:26
below.
15:34
So follow those waves of relaxation as they flow down.
15:48
down over the ten smooth rocks of a gently cascading river.
16:02
linking tranquil pools as they descend to a place of your own.
16:18
Clearing where anything is possible.
16:27
10.
16:30
noticing the patterns and colours of the minerals in the rocks.
16:43
9
16:46
feeling the buoyancy of the water as it cradles you safely.
16:59
8
17:03
hearing the ambient trickles of the transparent water.
17:14
Seven.
17:18
Feeling the warm glow of the sun, delivering rejuvenating vitamin D through your skin.
17:37
6 with the tweeting of the birds in the sky.
17:50
5 Conscious As the spray diffracts the sunlight into all the colours of the rainbow.
18:05
4
18:07
as you take it all in.
18:14
Three.
18:17
You're clearing, coming into view.
18:23
to.
18:26
trees, plants and flowers that you love the most.
18:38
one.
18:41
the warmth of the sun, the beautiful shapes, colours, patterns, the soothing sounds and wonderful sights and smells. As you enter your space where anything is.
19:11
possible.
19:17
In a moment I will ask you to open your eyes. Then I will click my fingers and say, rest. At which point you will close your eyes and relax even deeper down.
19:42
to a beautifully dreamlike state. Absorbing the messages, communicated and following the suggestions.
20:00
Open your eyes and rest.
20:09
Drifting deeper down.
20:14
Ready to take on board and follow my suggestions.
20:22
If at any further point you hear me click my fingers and say, rest, you will return immediately deeper to this dreamlike state, absorbing the messages I communicate and following my suggestions.
20:52
Open your eyes and rest, drifting deeper down, absorbing the messages I communicate and following my suggestions.
21:18
If you were to think of a time where you felt really safe, I wonder where you might be. Who you may be with.
21:36
Perhaps you'd be alone.
21:44
Let's see.
21:49
Would you be seeing through your own eyes? Or would you be seeing yourself in the picture?
22:03
wonder what you'd hear.
22:10
What you hear other people speaking? Your own thoughts.
22:19
Would you hear any ambient sounds around you?
22:30
I wonder what you'd be doing.
22:38
be moving or still.
22:47
Body language B.
22:54
What would be the expression on your face?
23:12
The feeling be heavy.
23:21
Big or small?
23:34
Soft or hard?
23:43
I where you'd feel it the most in your body.
23:57
what it was about this situation that made you feel so safe.
24:10
Something someone said?
24:15
Or that you said to yourself?
24:21
some kind of physical contact like the feeling of someone's hand in yours or
24:42
Even the sight of someone special. Or your favourite place to be.
24:54
Whatever it is.
24:57
Notice how it feels now.
25:12
You were to think of a time where you felt really supported.
25:21
I wonder where you might be.
25:33
Wonder what you'd see. Would you be seeing through your own eyes? Or would you see yourself in the picture?
25:53
I wonder what you'd hear.
25:59
you hear other people speaking?
26:06
No thoughts?
26:12
would you hear the ambient sounds around you?
26:24
I wonder what you'd be doing.
26:32
be moving? I'm still.
26:41
How would your body language be?
26:48
would be the expression on your face.
26:56
I wonder how you'd be feeling.
27:03
Would the feeling be heavy or light?
27:10
big or small.
27:20
Soft or hard?
27:27
And I wonder where you'd feel it most...
27:38
Could it have been about this situation that made you feel so supported?
27:52
something someone said or that you said to yourself.
28:02
some kind of physical content.
28:08
even the sight of someone special.
28:14
Trust they show in their body language. Whatever it was, notice how it feels now.
28:40
If you were to think of a time where you felt really loved, I wonder where you might be.
28:55
who you may be with.
29:01
CP
29:07
wonder what you'd see.
29:14
Would you be seeing through your own eyes? Or would you see yourself in the picture? I wonder what you'd hear.
29:35
you hear other people speaking?
29:41
own thoughts.
29:46
Would you hear ambient sounds all around you?
29:58
you'd be doing.
30:05
or still.
30:12
body language B.
30:18
What would be the expression on your face?
30:27
I wonder how you'd be feeling.
30:33
Feeling be heavy.
30:40
BIG
30:43
small.
30:53
Soft or hard?
31:01
Wonder where you'd feel it the most... in your body.
31:12
what it was about this situation that made you feel so loved.
31:25
Something someone said? Or that you said to yourself? Some kind of physical contact?
31:47
shoulder.
31:50
A kiss. The selfless act of someone special. Whatever it was.
32:07
Notice how it feels. Now.
32:30
Open your eyes and rest.
32:39
Drifting deeper down. Ready to take on board and follow my suggestions.
32:55
have had the experience of hearing your voice in a recording and feeling uneasy. Feeling like it's not your voice.
33:12
just disliking the sound.
33:18
This is very common and shows just how inaccurate we can be when we make judgements about ourselves.
33:38
others who know you. The recording just sounds like you. As normal.
33:52
and they have no clue what you are worrying about.
34:03
wonder who is more believable in this situation.
34:13
Anatomically, we are better equipped to perceive others than ourselves.
34:26
Our eyes, ears and nose all point outwards and predominantly sense the world around us. If we had no cameras and no glass
34:56
may never have seen our own faces.
35:10
I'm curious about anyone in your life who you already have a positive impact on. However small.
35:28
Could you already be contributing to the lives of others?
35:39
I what would people who appreciate you say about you?
35:50
What would they say your strengths are?
35:59
There may be someone you recently helped in a practical way.
36:10
Perhaps you helped a neighbour with their shopping. Or perhaps you simply opened a
36:24
someone.
36:29
These small acts of kindness make a difference to people.
36:40
they don't go unnoticed.
36:50
Think about what you did to help someone.
36:59
What might they have noticed about this act and about you?
37:11
How might this have made a difference to their day? To their state of mind?
37:28
even in a situation such as the current one.
37:36
where you may be physically isolated from people in your life.
37:47
even without being present with them. You mean something to somebody.
38:01
Just allow yourself to reflect now on one important relationship in your life.
38:18
Someone you trust and who trusts you.
38:28
wonder how this person is important to you and how you are important to them.
38:45
what you would mean to them.
38:49
what they would miss about you if you were not around.
39:04
Now you may find yourself thinking about someone you trust and who trusts you.
39:19
I wonder how you have been important to this person. How you remember being of service to them.
39:34
The things you have done or the way that you've been that has made a difference to them.
39:51
When you look through the eyes and stand in the shoes of the people you trust, you may become curious about who you are to them.
40:17
about what they see and feel about.
40:53
going to count to three. By the count of three you will find yourself bright and energised with all the transformations complete. Ready to take any challenge in your stride. One. Take a deep breath of nourishing air.
41:25
activating all of your resourcefulness. Two. Give your limbs a good stretch, primed to put into action everything that you have gained.
41:44
3. Notice the sounds around you. Open your eyes fresh and ready.
42:00
I hope you have enjoyed this self-hypnosis programme. Feel free to rinse and repeat as many times as you feel beneficial. Take everything that you've learned and put it into practice.
42:22
take a moment to acclimatise yourself to your surroundings before you restart your life.

Bathing your body in sweet relaxation.
10:48
and appreciation.
10:52
for everything it does.

And simultaneously you may have begun to notice your upper arms floppy and free.

Opening up those gates. Letting the cleansing relaxation flow through.

relaxing each and every muscle.
13:59
as it goes.
14:03
flowing out through the bottoms of your feet.
14:14
Feel that continuous flow now.
14:19
from the top of your head all the way through each part of your body and mind.
14:36
to the bottoms of your feet as if you yourself are a beautiful river.
14:52
trickling source up in the mountains at the top of your head.
15:04
and the delta flowing out into the sea.
15:13
through your feet.
15:18
giving you that full body warmth.

below.
15:34
So follow those waves of relaxation as they flow down.
15:48
down over the ten smooth rocks of a gently cascading river.

linking tranquil pools as they descend to a place of your own.

18:17
You're clearing, coming into view.

trees, plants and flowers that you love the most.

one.
18:41
warmth of the sun, the beautiful shapes, colours, patterns, the soothing sounds and wonderful sights and smells as you enter your space where anything is.
19:11
possible.
19:17
In a moment, I will ask you to open your eyes. Then, I will click my fingers and say, rest. At which point, you will close your eyes and relax even deeper down.
19:42
to a beautifully dreamlike state.
21:18
you
21:31
Imagine yourself holding closed the opening of a big, brightly coloured, inflated
21:46
between your finger and thumb.
21:54
Anything holding the air in is your firm grip between finger and thumb.
22:09
Notice any tension in your hand.
22:16
Energy required to hold it all in.
22:24
Notice the tension in the balloon and the air pressure creating the tension.
22:39
Within are all those moments where you have felt anxious.
22:50
overwhelm.
22:55
people, the things that were said, thought and felt. You might imagine the moments where
23:17
like you were running on nothing.
23:23
may even find moments in there where you felt on the verge of tears. At the end of your tears.
23:43
Notice them all in there along with any particular moments that are relevant for you.
23:58
of the pressures, all of the demands.
24:06
You may not have known until now, but all of this is being held inside the balloon by the tension in your fingers.
24:23
By now, your finger and thumb may be feeling tired.
24:55
Open your eyes and rest.
25:05
drifting deeper down.
25:09
to take on board and follow my suggestions.
25:20
what it would mean to you to go beyond your anxiety.
25:31
Whether you have been struggling with it for years, months, weeks or days, you've been on a journey. The obstacles and the conditions may have been challenging.
25:59
A walk in the park.
26:06
One thing we know.
26:11
that this journey ends in liberation from anxiety.
26:23
with eradication of anxiety.
26:33
I wonder what it would mean to you to be liberated from anxiety.
26:43
Put me through you.
26:49
about the future.
26:56
situation. It could mean...
27:04
give much attention to negative thoughts and feelings about the future.
27:16
spend most of your time in the present.
27:25
It could mean that there are certain things that you can do.
27:35
do before.
27:40
helps you sleep better.
27:47
communicate more confidently stay healthier
28:00
Exercise more.
28:10
Enjoy better relationships and more success.
28:22
may well connect with any of these and more.
28:32
for all of this to occur.
28:41
having been on an epic journey.
28:47
I wonder what you would be most grateful for.
28:55
wonder which lessons you
29:11
Notice a world liberated from anxiety and what that would be to you.
29:46
You may also be curious about how you can contribute to the lives of others with your new skills, your new perspective and your new achievements.
30:06
Take a moment for yourself to notice how you can make a difference to the lives of others.
30:27
Allow these possibilities to circulate, to settle and in their own
30:43
Seeds blown from their tree and finding their way into the earth at their own pace. Give them a little water and shine a light on them now.
31:06
Then, later on, after you've finished this meditation, create time to revisit those seedlings, making notes, drawing pictures, whatever works for you.
31:31
Because very soon they will become towering redwoods.
31:43
So, there is so much to be explored about your life liberated from anxiety. There is an interconnected network of possibilities and meaning that make past issues hardly seem significant.
32:26
Open your eyes and rest.
32:36
drifting deep.
32:40
to take on board and follow my suggestions.
32:51
Let's get curious about your relationship with anxiety.
33:01
In an ideal world, many might prefer to have no relationship with anxiety. But a lobotomy is far from ideal.
33:24
We're going to find a way to see anxiety as it is.
33:34
A useful system that is just going through a bit of potty training.
33:45
We're going to learn to give up resisting that which is part of us.
33:56
Where resistance bears no fruit.
34:05
If you have ever tried to reason with your anxiety, interrogate it, fight it, fix it, hide from it, or bury
34:28
it means to resist it.
34:37
may frequently or infrequently have experienced debilitating and consuming episodes of anxiety.
34:54
These can put you out of action, rendering you unable to function as you normally would.
35:08
they can feel painful, oppressive and hopeless. So it may be asking a lot to invite you to regard anxiety with anything but sheer disdain and resentment.
35:36
to see more grey area than black.
35:46
Anxiety may actually have some legitimate benefits.
35:58
and you may think about the times where you've tried to study your anxiety as a problem to be solved or fixed or the times where you have fought your anxiety until you've had no energy left.
36:30
tried to reason or plead with it at the end of your tether.
36:43
Or you may even have tried to ignore it. Or bury it deep down.
36:54
just disappear.
37:03
as you reflect upon these coping mechanisms. You may notice how well intentioned
37:17
which makes it all the more challenging when you feel like you have tried everything in your power.
37:33
Until now, you may have felt like a hostile relationship with your anxiety is
37:53
two opposing gang members stuck inside a prison cell together. You and your anxiety waking up and going to sleep in a hostile environment.
38:22
You are the storyteller too.
38:28
You get to choose what happens next and how you go forward with your relationship.
38:45
So imagine you have a remote control.
38:54
Feel the weight of it in your
39:03
On the face there are two buttons labelled Resist and Accept.
39:22
Notice the different colours of the buttons. Notice the difference in texture between the buttons and the controller.
39:47
Allow the thought to arrive.
39:55
Remember a time where you have been fully accepting of the way you feel.
40:10
where you have surrendered to that feeling.
40:19
allowing it to flow.
40:25
continue on, with no obstructions in its path and no interference.
40:41
For example, a time where you have felt...
40:49
love.
40:54
respected.
40:57
Free.
41:03
And of course...
41:08
you would be fully accepting of the way that you feel now.
41:22
Notice what you see, hear and feel.
41:30
Feel that surrender.
41:34
Feel that letting go.
41:40
Notice where in your body you get that feeling.
41:51
Press the accept button. Now.
42:02
Let it go.
42:06
Think of a time when you feel you have resisted some anxious feelings.
42:23
Those anxious feelings have included that feeling of resistance.
42:38
where you have tried to stop feeling anxious and failed.
42:51
may have continued for some time and you may have tried many different things to stop that feeling.
43:12
Notice what you can see, hear and feel.
43:24
Notice where in your body you feel that feeling now.
43:39
Press the resist button. Now.
43:51
and let it go.
44:02
Let's do that again.
44:09
Think of another time where you have been fully accepting of the way that you feel.
44:26
For example...
44:30
feeling where you may have been in love.
44:38
respected.
44:44
free.
44:51
where of course you would feel full acceptance of that feeling.
45:05
where you have surrendered to that feeling.
45:13
allowing it to flow and to continue on with no obstructions in its path and no interference.
45:36
Notice what you see, hear and feel.
45:46
Feel that surrender.
45:53
Feel. Letting go.
46:02
Notice where in your body you get that feeling.
46:15
Press the accept button. Now.
46:30
let it go.
46:36
Think again of a time when you feel you have resisted some anxious feelings. Where you have tried to stop feeling anxious and failed.
47:05
It may have continued for some time.
47:12
And you may have tried many different things to stop that feeling.
47:26
you
47:29
Notice what you can see, hear and feel.
47:42
Notice where in your body you feel that feeling.
47:56
Press the resist button now.
48:06
you
48:12
Let it go.
48:17
you
48:21
I think of a future situation.
48:28
where it is important for you to feel acceptance of anxiety instead of resistance.
48:49
What will you notice differently about your choice of response?
49:01
How difficult or easy is it?
49:09
to imagine yourself accepting.
49:17
surrendering to that feeling.
49:24
What happens next?
49:34
Feel that surrender now. Allowing yourself to feel what you feel in the rhythm of each breath in.
49:56
and out.
50:00
thoughts floating their way gently through your mind.
50:14
clowns against the backdrop.
50:23
Clear Blue Sky
50:38
Open your eyes and rest.
50:48
Drifting deeper down.
50:52
ready to take on board and follow my suggestions.
51:02
as you continue to hold all that tension.
51:12
All those anxious and overwhelming moments inside your balloon.
51:27
held closed by you.
51:35
All that energy.
51:39
just so that you can keep something that you don't really want.
52:02
Not yet, but in a moment.
52:10
When I say.
52:16
You can let it all go.
52:23
forever.
52:29
Notice that pressure. Notice that tension.
52:39
Become aware of how it feels. Is it hard or soft?
52:52
Heavy or light?
52:58
moving or still.
53:04
brittle or flexible.
53:13
Now take a deep breath in.
53:21
and hold it.
53:26
Hold it and feel that anticipation.
53:36
Now.
53:38
Go.
53:42
Let go of your breath.
53:46
Let go of the balloon.
53:51
liberate all the pressure. Let it all flow out as it wants to.
54:04
Feel that release.
54:09
Savour the relief as your breathing settles softly into a natural flow.
54:33
Your balloon is empty.
54:39
soft.
54:43
Flexible. Relaxed.
54:50
Still.
54:54
This moment is all yours. So drink it in. Allow it to nourish you.
55:09
repairing, regenerating.
55:20
Imagine a butterfly coming to rest on the empty balloon.

When a butterfly is liberated from its cocoon, it gains a new form.

new resourcefulness.

warm sunlight on its wings.

smelling the fragrant perfume.
56:52
pollinating as it goes.
57:01
How would it be for you?
57:07
Find yourself light and agile.

in the same rhythm and flow as the butterfly.
57:25
totally present as you are now.

57:43
feel

smell.
57:52
How would it be to find the image of this butterfly to be ever present in the centre of your mind and body radiating inner calm.
58:23
and peace.
58:32
Imagine yourself now, radiating inner calm and peace. Notice the colours, shapes and patterns.
58:54
Notice what you hear.

what you feel.

going to count to three. By the count of three, you will find yourself bright and energised, with all the transformations complete. Ready to take any challenge in your stride. One. Take a deep breath of nourishing air.
01:01:47
activating all of your resourcefulness. Two. Give your limbs a good stretch, primed to put into action everything that you have gained.

Notice your breathing, however it may be. Notice the rhythm and the pace. How is your thinking thinking? Is it busy or idle? Is it like heavy rain or light drizzle?
01:47
Not many people would choose the rain. But without it, no flowers would grow. And sometimes, you can just be in the rain and let it come down around

The programme consists of four audio tracks: an introduction, two deep trance sessions (one focused on nurturing self-value and another on building a healthy relationship with anxiety), and a 2-minute "On The Spot State Shifter." While they are designed to be listened to in order initially, you can listen to them in any sequence and repeat them as often as you find beneficial.

Only listen to the hypnosis sessions in a safe, comfortable space where you will not be interrupted. Never listen to these tracks while driving, operating machinery, bathing, or doing anything where drifting into a deep state of relaxation could put you or someone else in danger.

The session is based on findings by neuroanatomist Dr. Jill Bolte Taylor showing that the chemical process behind an anxious feeling lasts a maximum of 90 seconds in the body. The 2-minute "On The Spot State Shifter" guides you to step back into observing awareness, allowing those chemicals to flush through your system naturally without perpetuating the cycle through reactive thinking.

Everyone processes inner imagination differently. Some people see bright images, while others notice sounds, physical feelings, or simply maintain an abstract inner awareness. There is no right or wrong way to experience hypnosis—simply listen and allow your mind to respond naturally without turning it into a test.

Attempting to fight, reason with, or suppress anxiety requires continuous tension and often increases feeling overwhelmed. By practicing emotional acceptance and surrender through guided exercises (such as the controller visualization), you remove the internal resistance, allowing physical sensations to peak and dissipate naturally.

The balloon exercise acts as a metaphor for holding onto built-up stress, internal pressure, and past anxious moments. By realizing how much energy is spent holding that tension inside, you are guided to consciously release the grip, vent the accumulated pressure, and step into a lighter, present-focused state of calm.
